34, 35 & 36. Married Officers' Quarters (semi-

detached).

Weighing machines for planes, a compass platform, winches at the Slipways, illumination for night

flying and all accessories can be provided as

necessary and as the Air Port develops.

A site for a hotel has not yet been selected,

but should hotel accommodation in the future prove

necessary at the Air Port this can be provided.

Hotel accommodation may be obtained within 4 miles

of the Air Port and a new large modern hotel will be

opened in Kowloon by the end of the year.

The suggested lay-out for an Air Port for

Hong Kong, Plan B, is submitted for the approval of

the Air Ministry, but it should be distinctly

understood that only such Buildings, Slipways and

other works as are necessary for the immediate

requirements of the Air Port will be undertaken by

this Government as a commencement, but it is of the

utmost importance that a complete scheme should be

approved to enable extensions to be carried out from

time to time, which will ultimately form a canpreh-

ensive scheme as a whole as and when air routes are

inaugurated.

Arrangements will be made so that the Air

Ministry will be able to select certain areas and

buildings for the use of any air unit, which it may

be required to station in Hong Kong.

Areas have been reserved for the erection of

the necessary buildings by the Air Ministry as will

be required for the accommodation of such a unit.
